FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Outsider Folk Art Gallery presents Animals in Art:TNT! (Traditional and Non-Traditional) May 14-August 31
Opening weekend event- May 14-15, 11-4pm. Meet artists Barbara Strawser, Ned Foltz, June and Walter Gottshall, and Jerry Andersen.

Animals in Art: TNT! celebrates the human fascination with animals as expressed in artwork from different times, places, and traditions (or non-traditions). Whether representational, imaginary, or somewhere in between, and whether made with fine art materials, or materials scavenged from the world of the artist, everybody can get excited about animals in art!

Animals in Art: TNT! opens with a two-day ‘art-fair’ event featuring Barbara Strawser, Ned Foltz, June and Walter Gottshall, and Jerry Andersen with tables of their artwork set up for sale in the gallery. Select work by these artists will remain on view in the gallery for the run of the exhibition, along with work by twenty other artists, depicting animals so varied there is one for every letter of the alphabet. Animals are a subject in art that is unifying, since it is common to artists across time and place, and since viewers with varying tastes can relate to this universally loved theme.

The Outsider Folk Art Gallery, located on the 5th floor of the Goggle Works Center for the Arts, is owned by George and Sue Viener. The gallery shows the Classics of American Self-Taught Art along with important new discoveries.
